A Tribute to Prince Philip

1921-2021
Duke of Edinburgh
Our thoughts are with the Queen and the Royal Family as our nation now comes together to mourn and remember the life of Prince Philip. Our country has lost a very dedicated public servant, from a distinguished career in the Royal Navy during the Second World War to his decades of services as the Duke of Edinburgh. He will probably be most remembered, however, for his extraordinary commitment and devotion to the Queen, having been at her side supporting her for more than seven decades.

Government COVID-19 guidelines mean physical books of condolence are unable to be opened in public places at this time, but parishioners wishing to express their condolences are encouraged to send a message to the Royal Family via the online Book of Condolence on the Royal website.

Arrangements being made throughout Devon will be eventually shared on the website of Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon.

While people may want to gather at places of remembrance to lay flowers and pay their respects, please be mindful of the current coronavirus restrictions and consider safer alternatives, such as making a donation to charity.
